Zoom changed the default MinnState settings for cloud recordings in Zoom on April 11, 2020. Cloud-based recordings now require a password before the recording could be viewed. Any recordings made during that time frame had a password automatically assigned to them.
MinnState reversed this change Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Any recordings made after that time will not have the password protect setting turned on.
If your viewers are having difficulty accessing recording between April 11 – 15, 2020 via the link in Zoom, you have two options to remedy this.
- Option 1: Provide participants with the password, or
- Option 2: Turn Off the “Password protect” setting
- Navigate to https://minnstate.zoom.us/recording and choose the “Share…” button next to your recording.

- Change the “Password protect” setting to Off or provide viewers with this password
